Sand Lake is a 949 acre lake located in Sawyer County. It has a maximum depth of 50 feet. Visitors have access to the lake from a public boat landing. Fish include Musky, Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike and Walleye. As of 2024, Catch and release fishing for largemouth and smallmouth bass is open year round unless otherwise noted. Motor Trolling is allowed with 1 hook, bait, or lure per angler, and 3 hooks, baits, or lures maximum per boat. Our public access is located on the East end of the lake off of County Road F.
Sand Lake Fishing Bag and Size Limits (2024-25)
Walleye: Daily Limit 3 total (15 inch Minimum Length to 20 inch Maximum Length. One fish over 24 inches may be kept.)
Muskellunge: Daily Limit 1 (40 inch Minimum Length)
Panfish (crappie, bluegill, perch): Daily Limit 10 (combined).
Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass: Daily Limit 5 (combined; 14 inch minimum length)
